ABSTRACT
The incidence of dengue fever has increased dramatica ly worldwide in
recent decades. The largest number of cases of dengue fever in reported reached
4.5 mi lion cases with 2,300 deaths. DHF is an infectious disease caused by dengue
virus infection transmitted through the bite of aedes mosquitoes (Aedes
albopictus and aedes aegypti. The purpose of this study was to obtain an
overview of the implementation of nursing care in DHF patients with pain
discomfort disorders using Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique therapy.
Thecasestudyresearch
methodwith a sample of 3 respondents, using a medical
surgical form to examine nursing problems and a Numeric Rating Scale (NRS)
instrument to measure pain intensity.
The resultsof nursingcare with a nursing diagnosis of acute pain related to
physiological injury agents, hyperthermia related to disease process and risk of
bleeding related to coagulation disorders (thrombocytopenia). Pain management
intervention and administration of SEFT therapy for 3 consecutive days for 30
minutes. After the implementation of the 3 x 24 hour procedure, the pain intensity
decreased significantly from a scale of severe pain down to no pain to mild pain.
Evaluation of the first day of pain intensity decreased from 7 to 6, the second day
decreased to 2-3 and the third day decreased to 0-1.
The recommendation of the research is the application of complementary
therapy SEFT therapy as a companion to pain management to overcome acute
pain problems in DHF patients
